Hello and Welcome

Dear DSBN Virtual Elementary School Parents, Guardians and Students:

This is going to be an exciting year of learning and we are looking forward to taking this journey together.

Making sure your child can log in to their Virtual School learning environment is one of the things we need your support with before your child starts on the first day of school Tuesday, September 8.

Logging In To D2L (to be live Wednesday, September 9):

To log in, please go to: https://dsbn.elearningontario.ca
We recommend saving this link so your child can access it easily.

Your child will need to know their username and password to log in to D2L.
If your child needs to reset their DSBN password click here.

Here is a tutorial to walk you through changing your child’s password: https://sway.office.com/DldoDNYRpuYhGYn6?authoringPlay=true&publish

If your child is new to the DSBN, you will receive a separate message with their username and a temporary password.

Learning Activity for September 8

See below, here on the school website, you will find independent learning activities for your child to complete on the first day of school. Students will have a chance to share their work during synchronous learning time with their class on Wednesday, September 9.

Also on September 8, your child’s teacher will contact you to introduce themselves and explain the program. This call will be from an unknown number. If your child is enrolled in Kindergarten their teacher will provide you with a time to log in on September 9. You and your child will participate in a small group synchronous setting with their teacher. This will ensure our youngest learners have a successful start to their virtual learning experience.

Parent Questions

As we said in our earlier message to you, thank you for being so patient with us. To contact us with your questions, please click the Contact tab at the top left of this web page. We know that you have lots of questions, and we will do our best to respond to them. Some of your questions may be specific to your child’s learning - in these situations, we kindly ask you to make an appointment with your child’s teacher to discuss their learning needs once the teacher has had time to get to know them. Please note, we will unfortunately be unable to answer questions sent during the weekend.
